First Term exams!
Schools closed for the Easter holidays and Hilma, our school teacher, received news from Eros Girls School and Primary School about their first term exam results.  We have 8 children on the Primary and 3 girls in the Girls’ School.  They all passed their first term exams and Martha has done particularly well.  She has been promoted to Year Six from Year Five already! Read about what the children have been up to so far this year here.

Eros Primary School Fun Walk

It is an annual tradition at Eros Primary School to do a Fun Walk to raise funds for the school. Each year they choose a different theme and this year it was "LOVE AND HAPPINESS". On 20th March, the children were encouraged to dress up in red, white and black as they hit the streets of Windhoek on their charity event.

Measles Immunizations

Our Lifeline Clinic Doctor, Dr Sarah France, comes back to the N/a'an ku se farm every couple of weeks or so and holds an open clinic for all the San Bushman living here. She checked all the children and realised that most of them had missed their Measles Immunizations. It is compulsory for every child in Namibia to have DPT, Polio and Measles vaccines from birth until they are 10 years old.

Clever Cubs Pre-School April 2012

Read about all the toddlers at Clever Cubs Pre-School - how they reacted to their
recent Polio jabs, and see them in their new handmade donated hats and scarfs, ready for the upcoming winter!

Bessa:  We all think Bessa will be a very good athlete when he's older. All he does most of the time is run so fast when he is outside playing and he loves to play soccer. All of us at Clever Cubs are so proud of him now that he can use the toilet on his own without assistance. He is very helpful and loves to share with all the other children and shows so much respect towards everyone. Hilma was impressed by the young toddler as he didn't cry at all when he had his recent Polio Immunization.

Primary School Children April 2012

Read all the latest news about each of the older children who live here at N/a'an ku se, including how new girls Andy, Imencia and Christina are settling into their new Primary School and an exciting adventure for Josephina.

Anna: In early February Anna went to visit her family at their farm just a few km from Gobabis for a few weeks. She hadn't seen them in such a long time, she was very pleased to spend time with her Aunts, Uncles and cousins again. Whilst she was there she helped them milk the cows and cook up lots of nice dinners of meat. She loved catching up with her cousins and had a great time.

The children here really missed her, they kept asking when she would be back and the day she arrived they all ran up to her and gave her a big hug. Nico missed her in particular as Anna is very much his second Mum. He follows her everywhere and cries whenever she's not around! Anna is now so confident and works on her own in the Clever Cubs school when Theoplitine is not around, and she observe the children very well.

Primary school children - January 2012

Anna: Anna is not only still taking care of Nico, but also of all of the other kids in school. She is really a young woman now and is taking more and more responsibility in school. She helped to organise the graduation in November, as well as the Christmas party at the beginning of December, which she very much enjoyed!
