Primary School Children - October update

Anna: Anna is so patient with all the little toddlers at Clever Cubs and is a wonderful role model to them all. She lights up the classroom every day with her ever sparkling smile. Anna will be turning 18 this month, which is a huge milestone. As a celebration she took her very first trip to the ocean! She took a trip with some friends to Sossusvlei and climbed the famous Dune 45. You can see from her huge smile here just how much she enjoyed the holiday!

Betha: It is her last year in Primary school and she is working extra hard in this second term to make it to high school with good grades. She has discovered reading and just finished her first English novel, she is already looking forward to starting a new book!

Bettie: It was Bettie's birthday on the 7th of October and she was given a teddy bear from all the kids at Clever Cubs. She was the happiest birthday girl in the world. Bettie works very hard to get good grades (she passed all her subjects with Bs and Cs) and still finds the time to be a wonderful sister to her younger brother Chrisjan.

Chrisjan and his friend
Chrisjan: Chrisjan continues to perform well in his school work. He seems to really like maths and always tries to do his exercises on his own. He is a very quiet boy and loves reading his books, but he also has a lot of friends on the farm and at school. He has had very satisfying results during the second term.

Dina Asmes: Dina's grades were lower than usual last term, but the little girl has improved her school work recently. This is understandable and to be expected after the tragic death of her mother earlier this year. Her teacher is very happy with her progress and we're so glad to see Dina happier and back on track.

Dina Pikiro: Dina is well ahead of her classmates with her writing and maths skills. She has worked very hard in the second term and moved from a C to a B in English! It was also Dina's birthday on the 27th of August and she received a teddy bear from everyone. She was so happy!

Josephina: Josephina's favorite subjects are Afrikaans and Home Ecology. Her final exams start on 17th November and she has been studying hard in order to make it to the next grade. Josephina has recently been spending time with friends who are not a good influence to her, so Hilma has met with her teachers to ensure she keeps on track with her studies.

Kanna: Kanna is full of energy no matter if it comes to work or play. He is always willing to help anyone who needs it and is doing a great job taking care of the goats and sheep, even the little babies that were recently born! In early August Kanna was lucky to receive a brand new pair of orthopaedic shoes, especially made for him by his friend Jim McIntosh in New Zealand - thank you so much Jim, Kanna loves his new smart shoes!

Maria: As we mentioned in July, Maria has been trying hard to improve her grades and we're delighted to report that her hard work has paid off! She has moved from an E to a D in Afrikaans, and from a C to a B in Physical Education. She has promised to work even harder during next term and get through to the next year. Good job, Maria!

Martha with her friend Bettie

MarthaMartha has coped extremely well with the death of her mother earlier this year and is always reading, working in her books and colouring. Martha loves doing her school work and she is always the first one to wake up and get on the school bus.

Sofia: Sofia is very much a young woman now and grows in maturity all the time. She lives at Eros School Hostel in Windhoek and works extremely hard. She is one of the best in class, which is a huge achievement for the San Bushman girl. She comes back to visit her friends and family very often, and we are all very proud of her.

Willemina: The pretty girl has promised to put more effort in her school work this term and make it through to next year. Willemina is supported by both teachers and her uncle, Justus who is a Chef here, and who takes care of her here on the farm and assists her with her reading. She did a great job obtaining even more B grades during the second term compared to the first term. Keep up the good work Willemina!!
